NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS from independent retailers interested in integrating co-retail into their store. Grants range from $10,000 to $20,000. The co-retail model was developed and used by Seasoned Specialty Foods since 2017. As it closes after nearly a decade of work, this model will continue through new retail partners.

WHAT IS CO-RETAIL? Short for community retail, it is a grocery retail model that creates an early-stage pathway—similar to an incubator—helping food makers get their products onto shelves and earn 100% of sales.
For retailers, it strengthens product mix, adds fresh and local offerings, and creates a more engaging in-store experience. At the same time, it helps build a stronger and more inclusive local food economy.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Retail partners select products from licensed local makers and sell them in-store, providing shelf space and handling merchandising, promotions, and sales, and gives back 100% of sales to the maker.
Co-retail may be used as the main operating model in a store, but it works best as a focused program within an existing operating structure—applied to select products/makers and managed with distinct terms.
